Compact SUV meets the sports car
The new Nissan juke shows off it distinctive style being part SUV and part sports car. At first glance you will notice the flared wheel arches, large grill and the shapely headlights. The styling alone gives the feel of a masculine tough exterior which will appeal broad range of audiences.
The Juke has a four wheel drive system complete with torque vectoring (similar to the technology used in the Porsche 911) with a gutsy 1.6 Turbo charged 187bhp, which is a large number of horses for a car of this size. Other engine will include a 1.6 Litre 85bhp and a 1.5dci diesel running at 105bhp which is expected to be the best seller.
The centre console which is said to be modelled on the shape of a motorbike has a dynamic control system in-built which switches the Juke between three driving modes (
Boot space is said to be sufficient and suitable for every type of user. The interior styling seems to bring a new level of design to the table which sets the tone for the Jukes main rivals the Mini countryman, Kia soul and the Suzuki SX4.
Although history has show that cars of a similar type are cumbersome with bad road holding capabilities and lack of response in engine power due to their size, the juke may have solved some issues. Due to the crossover technology the Juke seems to have hit a niche in the marketplace which should stand Nissan in good stead.
The Juke is set to be a hit according the industry comments and from first glance looks like it will challenge the super mini market by appealing to a wider range of user groups within the marketplace.
Prices are said to start at £17,145 for the base model Visia.
Release date is expected to be sometime in October 2011.
