The new Audi A8 seems to be an evolved version of the previous model at first glance. But when you dig a little bit deeper you realise there is more to this innovative creation than first meets the eye.
Audi have incorporated a selection of their new technology into the new A8 model which has resulted in a 20 percent reduction in carbon emissions which is only going to benefit your wallet whether you’re leasing or purchasing a vehicle.
All new models are going to be fitted with the a new 8 speed tiptronic gearbox and the 4.2 TDI is also going to have the rear differential used on the S4 and the S5 as standard to increase and stabilise the power ratio to the rear wheels.
The 4.2 TDI is going to be the fastest Audi boasting a 0-62mph time of only 5.4 seconds and all models are going to be fitted with a top speed limiter of 155mph.
The new A8 has been made both longer and wider than the previous model with a lower roofline to increase the drag co efficiency and to improve the aesthetics to create more of a coupe look than a saloon.
Due to the increase in length of the new Audi A8 the cabin space has been increased which has lead to more leg room and increased luxury. The new A8 has been described as having Bentley quality due to its fine finish and use of top of the range materials, whilst sporting a new touchpad interface that works like a touchpad mouse on a computer which will become standard equipment throughout the whole Audi range.
Prices for the New range of Audi A8’s start at 52,800 for the 3.0 litre TDI Quattro which rises to 59,500 for the 4.2 litre TDI Quattro and then up to 61,500 for the 4.2 FSI.
