Software Company Lysanda believes that if drivers knew they were going to receive a share of the fuel cost savings they achieved, they would immediately change their driving style.

Drivers comply with smoking rules

A government study has found that almost all business drivers and their employers are complying with laws banning smoking ban in vehicles.

A report for Smokefree England found almost total compliance was across vehicles and the workplace - although a self-employed man was found "dumbfounded" by the penalty after being recently fined for smoking in his van.

Smoking in your car costs at re-sale time

One year on from the introduction of the smoking ban and businesses have been warned that drivers who smoke in their vehicles could end up costing the company more than a fine.

"Presentation is one of the strongest price factors in the used market and becomes even more important when used vehicle values are under pressure, as they are now,” Tim Naylor, PR manager at BCA, said.

Budget 2008: Vehicle Excise Duty changes

With the latest budget comes a reform of the Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) structure.  2009 will see a restructure where financial incentives are offered for those choosing the greenest cars, while from 2010 in order to deter people from buying the high emitting vehicle, there will be a new higher first year rate. 

This will mean that cars emitting less than 130g/km of CO2 will pay no VED in the first year, but cars that produce more than 254g/km will pay a first year VED of £950.

Techonology makes a dream car, a perfect car!

Every so often television shows have a good laugh at the expense of past visions of the future.
