Due to go on sale in the spring of next year the new Peugeot RCZ comes garnished with a choice of three engines. There are two versions of the turbocharged 1.6, one producing 156 Bhp and the other 200 Bhp. The third engine available will be a HDI turbo diesel engine producing 163 Bhp.
All models will come with a 6 speed manual gearbox, but teh diesel engione has the additional option of an automatic.
The 1.6 200 Bhp engine is expected to be the most popular amongst customers and will launch the RCZ to 60 MPH from standing in 7.6 seconds. There is an economical version for those who are looking to save on costs, the HDI diesel engine will achieve 52.3 Mpg whilst only producing 139g/km in CO2 emissions.
Peugeot have prided themselves on paying partiular attention to the driving position and quality of the interior cabin. They have used higher quality expensive materials to improve the interior decor which should assists the RCZ in making an impact in its market sector as it will be entering into the pathway of main players such as the Volkswagen Scirocco, Audi TT and the Hyundai coupe.
The RCZ is definatly a new domain that Peugeot have entered but if it delivers what it promises it should prove to be a great success.
You're right, the main plus of a Peugeot it's the cabin, there's no doubt about that.
